Pricing:

1. How do you calculate prices?

Custom Shirt Center calculates price based on the following components:
  1. Type: Which shirts you choose
  2. Quantity: How many shirts you have in your order total
  3. Shirt Color: Which colors you choose for your shirts
  4. Shirt Size: Prices may increase for very large shirt sizes
  5. Print Locations: How many print locations your shirt has
  6. Print Colors: How many print colors are in your design

2. What factors affect my price?

  1. Type: We offer a variety of shirt brands and styles for you to choose from. Thanks to our vendor relations and wholesale status, we are able to offer some of the best prices in the industry for many shirt brands. We pass these savings on to you for some of the best priced shirts online.
  2. Quantity: Because of our quantity based pricing tiers, the cost per shirt decreases as the shirt quantity gets larger. The more shirts you order, the more you save!
  3. Shirt Color: We have two different prices, one for white shirts and one for color shirts. Many companies use a unified price that is higher to accommodate the cost of color dye, but we separate those shirts to give you the best prices possible based on your selections.
  4. Shirt Size: Shirt sizes Small through Extra Large are featured at the same price level. Shirts at sizes greater than Extra Large may be subject to additional costs due to the cost of materials in production of the larger shirts.
  5. Print Locations: Each printing location (chest, back, sleeve, nape, etc.) requires us to create additional screens for printing. Choosing multiple print locations will increase the cost of production.
  6. Print Colors: When choosing a silk screen printed shirt, each color requires a screen to be produced for printing. Generally, the more colors in your design, the greater the cost of printing. Full color printing (CMYK digital prints or simulated full color silk screen) are exempt from these additional charges.

3. What Can I Do to Lower The Cost?

  1. Order White Shirts: White shirts are less expensive due to the lack of dye needed for production and the rate at which they travel through our warehouse. If you're looking to trim a few dollars off of your order, consider printing on white shirts instead of color.
  2. Use Fewer Colors: Every additional color in your design requires an additional screen and imprint charge. (excluding CMYK full color prints). If you can reduce your design colors by even just one color, you can cut costs.
  3. Order More Shirts: Depending on your shirt needs, ordering more shirts will actually reduce your 'price-per-shirt'. With a lower individual shirt cost, you could have an additional profit margin.
  4. Use Fewer Locations: Every additional print location requires an additional setup and screen. If you're looking to save money on your order, consider using fewer print locations on your design.
  5. Re-Orders: Are you ordering an exact reorder from a previous date? We can pass savings on to you by using films and possibly screens! Please give us a call to discuss.

2. What printing method should I use?

  1. Silk Screen Printing: Silk screen printing is our standard print format for any shirt orders of 12 or more. We can produce one to 9 color prints, simulated full color process and CMYK silk screen printing on our automatic silk screen equipment.
  2. Digital CMYK Direct-To-Garment: If you're looking to order a low quantity of shirts, or have a huge number of colors in your design, digital CMYK printing may be the more cost effective way to go. Our digital CMYK printer can print your design directly onto the garment. We offer CMYK digital printing on both white and color shirts.
  3. Direct Embroidery: Very popular for use on polos, button downs and ball caps, our direct embroidery method allows your designs to be embroidered directly onto the garment with our stock color or color-matched options.

3. What resolution art should I send?

Unlike most of our competition, Custom Shirt Center offers art services with every shirt order to help you get the absolute best print possible. With that being said, there are a few tips that will help us create the best print with your submitted artwork.
  1. If you're submitting raster artwork (jpg, png, tif, etc.), we prefer a 300 dpi image that's created at the same size as the print will be on the shirt. For example: If you create a 2" jpg image at 300 dpi, but wanted it printed on the full front of a shirt, we would have to scale that image up to 12" in width, creating a very blurry/pixelated image.
  2. Vector artwork is preferred for illustrations, type, and other digitally created items. If you're submitting vector files (ai, pdf, svg, eps, etc.), please submit all files with texts as outlines and use spot colors where appropriate. For sizing guidelines, please refer to the next answer below.

5. How do I make print colors match my logo?

We offer full Pantone™ color matching services at Custom Shirt Center. Our stock colors cover a large variety of color options, but if you do need an exact color match, we can mix those colors in-house for your shirt order. Please refer to a Pantone™ solid coated guide book for accurate representation of colors, as different monitors will display colors differently from computer to computer.

6. How can I make sure my design is centered?

Custom Shirt Center provides a proof of your shirt with every order prior to production. This is an opportunity for you to see exactly how your shirts will be printed or embroidered. Our digital graphic artists check artwork and proofs for errors, centering, and overall print readiness before sending to you for approval. NOTE: Once you approve your proof, you are releasing the design to us for printing, and it cannot be changed. Make sure to check these proofs thoroughly for spelling/grammar erros or other mistakes. We're human too! (see what we mean?)
